University Research Area
The Carlos III University of Madrid participates in the development of the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem of Leganés Tecnológico through the UC3M Science Park, its unit of transfer of knowledge and technology generated by its research groups and involvement with business innovation.
The UC3M Science Park, in its role of “heart of innovation of Leganés Tecnológico”, develops:
The commercialization of research results from more than 115 research groups in engineering, social sciences, communication and humanities
Collaboration in R & D between the university and companies, with SMEs and large companies, being a member of clusters and sectorial platforms
The R + D + i centers, with laboratories that meet the market demand in sectors such as Security and Aerospace or Disability and Dependence
The creation of innovative and technological companies in its Nursery Business, which currently supports 40 companies or business projects
The dynamization and dissemination of innovation of the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem of Leganés Tecnológico, in a space created and adapted for the participation of all its members

The Leganés Tecnológico Park through the University’s Science Park is present at the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE).
The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) is a key piece of the Science – Technology – Enterprise System of Spain. Its members are science and technology parks that are located in 17 different autonomous communities. Every day, the companies and institutions that are in them are the best referent of the Spanish innovation system.
The diversity of the promoters of these parks (autonomous communities, municipalities, universities, private and public companies) make APTE a network of innovation that works in network.
