The Park is born with a double objective:
to strengthen research as a fundamental element for the generation of knowledge and create a favorable climate for companies to find all the facilities to develop a culture of technological innovation, in order to increase their competitiveness and improve the Coordination of the public and private sectors in the scientific and technological areas.
The urban consortium
For their development, both Administrations, the Community of Madrid and the City of Leganés, formed the Leganés Tecnológico Urban Consortium by granting a public deed on December 20, 1999 after its constitution was authorized and its statutes approved by the Council Of Government of the Community of Madrid, by agreement adopted in session of November 11, 1999 and by the Plenum of the City of Leganés, by agreement in session held on September 14, 1999.
On May 23, 2000, the Board of Directors agreed to join the Consortium of the Carlos III University of Madrid.
Since its constitution, it has legal personality and full capacity to act, being governed by its Statutes and the applicable urban legislation.
Leganés Tecnológico is one of the parks promoted and promoted by the Community of Madrid in order to be among the most competitive regions in the world and its companies are consolidated among the most powerful.
The Community of Madrid contributes, with its experience in the definition and development of other Scientific and Technological Parks, in the constitution of Leganés Tecnológico, assuming part of the investment.
The City Council of Leganés, is based on its determined and permanent commitment to the social and economic development of the municipality and the region to boost the creation of Leganés Tecnológico, taking part of the investment.
The Carlos III University of Madrid participates in Leganés Tecnológico through the creation of the Science Park to stimulate and manage the flow of knowledge and technology between universities, research institutions, companies and markets.
